The azole pharmacophore is considered a viable lead structure for the synthesis of more efficacious and broad spectrum antimicrobial agents. Potential antibacterial and antifungal activities are encountered with some azoles. Therefore, this study presents the synthesis and antifungal evaluation of a new series of substituted azoles. A series of some different azole derivatives, benzotriazole, 5-aminotetrazole, 4-aminotriazole were synthesized. All of the synthesized compounds were characterized by TLC, melting point determination, IR, NMR, Mass spectral studies and tested for their antifungal activity against the standard strains of candida albicans and asperigilus niger using agar plate diffusion method. The newly synthesized compounds exhibit moderate to excellent growth inhibition of fungi.
